  • What audio and video brands are you familiar with?
This question is highly nuanced since part of the answer is - I am continually finding out more about audio and video than I have previously been exposed to. It is an ongoing discovery. There are so many different applications and use cases for audio and video products, my creativity is exercised when I explore the various options and considerations for a particular client's application. I can somewhat narrow the answer down to - there are many manufacturers and brands of audio and video products I am intimately familiar with, in various spheres of application, since I've installed and supported these products. Rather than make a list of brands, I'd suggest reaching out to me with your question to see if I can be of assistance. Even if I am not particularly familiar with your brand of X-Y-Z product, I can typically find out or discover relevant information for your product and application with relatively minimal research time.
  • What do you charge for your services?
My base hourly rate for remote services is currently $40 per hour. The base hourly rate for on-site services (excluding travel and other related expenses) is $80 per hour. Hourly rates will vary based upon a number of factors, including familiarity (or lack thereof) with particular products, overall amount of time required to invest in a project, required additional tools, materials, or software, etc.
  • What automation brands are you familiar with?
I have worked with each of the top automation and control manufacturers within the residential and commercial space, to a greater or lesser extent. I don't find it necessary to mention brands because there are really not too many. Chances are, if I haven't worked with the brand or am at least somewhat familiar with it, it's something that is very obscure. The type of assistance I am going to be able to provide with respect to these various products will vary due to a host of criteria. Most recently, I obtained Savant, Lutron Radio RA3, and KNX certifications, and am highly familiar with Crestron, AMX, URC, RTI, Control 4, and other similar control and automation platforms.
  • Why should I consider hiring Current Dynamic Consulting?
Perhaps you've been ignored or passed over by a retailer or custom integrator from whom you've purchased a system. Or, perhaps you are a custom integrator or retailer who is trying to solve a problem or come up with a system design for a client but you don't quite know where to start after you've already exhausted options and resources. While the above are just a couple of examples of why you might wish to consider hiring me for a project, the fact is there is no comprehensive answer to this question because I am still discovering the many, many scenarios clients wish to consider my services for. Everything from installing a new wireless access point and some network cabling, to performing a fine-tune on a carefully assembled stereo music system or multichannel audio/video system, or configuring a network attached storage drive to serve as a central media and data repository for an interconnected environment.
  • What networking equipment are you familiar with and support?
In a nutshell - all of it, to a greater or lesser extent dependent upon the circumstance. The reasons for this are too complicated to provide in a brief answer suitable for a FAQ page, but suffice it to say that I have been on track to earn a CCNA certification, I am Dante Level 3 certified already, and have a few other achievements related to networking I've been pursuing in concurrence with other areas of learning. I have also been intimately familiar with open source router firmware such as OpenWRT, dd-WRT, Tomato, etc. for many years. In general, I can work with most consumer level as well as most enterprise level networking hardware. The extent to which I am comfortable with the requested functionality will vary widely, due to the existing differences in approach to networking software and hardware amongst the various vendors.
  • What is an FAQ section?
An FAQ section can be used to quickly answer common questions about you or your business, such as “Where do you ship to?”, “What are your opening hours?” or “How can I book a service?” It’s a great way to help people navigate your site and can even boost your site’s SEO.
